Although I have been working on OHSU websites for years, I consider myself a junior UX/UI designer, most of my work history required a much broader focus than just web design. Plus, in the beginning, I had little to no collaboration, but in recent years more people have gained interest, and the group of shareholders I work with has expanded. Now, I have a more structured approach to webpage updates and builds. My role has also grown; lately, I often find myself creating web pages as part of a whole communication package. Links to 3 projects I’ve chosen to highlight Women in Radiology Committee webpage, Patient Shielding Policy, and MRI Safety Week are located in the main navigation.
Timeline of my Work History
I have had an almost 20 year career at OHSU, the only university hospital in Oregon. My career has morphed rather than stopped and started. This is a timeline of my projects and skills instead of just your typical resume. I start with my most recent projects and move backwards.

Department newsletter move from Constant Contact to OHSU NOW
I created a weekly newsletter to inform our team of important department updates. I began the newsletter in Constant Contact. In 2022, pricing changed and I started creating the newsletter in Digital Signal, institutionally called “OHSU NOW,” both platforms are like designing single web pages.

New Communications Specialist role
Diagnostic Radiology has around 360 employees dispersed over a large campus with very different workflows depending on the role. The complicated logistics of our department require smart digital communication solutions. I reinforce parent branding importance whenever possible in our department.

Cloud Storage- SharePoint
In September 2021 I opened a MS Team/ SharePoint site for our department and have been developing it. I often provide basic technical assistance to department users and enjoy making recommendations on how to leverage this technology to create better workflows. BOX was officially retired in December 2021. We moved much of the box content to OneDrive but I recreated some information as SharePoint pages, such as the Radiologist Standard Operating Procedure manual that was several word documents to an easier to access SharePoint page.

OHSU Diagnostic Radiology EDU / HOS website redesign (2)
In 2017, it was decided to merge the hospital and educational site into one. Many found having the two separate sites was confusing and some information is redundant. As part of the redesign, I audited the Healthcare pages and severely edited them down. The two sites were merged by me and launched in June 2017.

Web Specialist
I successfully negotiated a promotion to web specialist after years of work building the OHSU Diagnostic Radiology website. In the beginning, I had little to no collaboration, but in recent years more people have gained interest. Almost all the pages on the Diagnostic Radiology site, with the exception of recent MRI protocol pages, I have created. In addition to website updates and page creation, I also use Adobe products to create digital content for the website and social media. I also review Google Analytics and use the information to tailor web pages to site visitors.

Cloud Storage- BOX
Where you store and share documents is an important part of effective communication. In March of 2015 I championed incorporating a newly available cloud solution- BOX for secure and more user-friendly storage of schedules and job classification specific information. Box was the best solution we had available at the time.

Mammography page redesign to align with OHSU Breast Center
At OHSU, there are overlaps of service lines. The Breast Center was owned by the Women’s Health Department. However Diagnostic Radiology provided Ultrasound and Mammography services. I worked with OHSU Marketing to redesign the Breast Center and Mammography pages to remove redundancies and create a cohesive online experience.

Diagnostic Imaging Health care website launch
Originally because I was employed by the education mission, the healthcare side wanted to have someone on their team to champion the healthcare website. I was initially supposed to provide a supportive role but due to staffing changes I took over this project and launched it.

Start of Redesign & New Healthcare site
I was a part of initial discussions around building a new patient-centered Diagnostic Imaging Healthcare site. The original Healthcare site was separate from the educational site and was designed for patients. I co-designed and developed the initial build.

MRI protocols
We started adding MRI Protocols to the website to address a problem with MRI techs editing protocols without the authorization of a radiologist. The protocols needed a public view without editing capabilities. The protocols didn’t change to often (in the beginning) and the public website seemed like an good fit. The added benefit was easy viewing access for our partners at the VA. Our public-facing website became a source of truth for our techs, providers and surrounding Imaging practices. Last counted we have over Over 250 MRI Protocol pages added online for easy but non-editable access. I am very proud of how popular they have been. Radiology Departments outside of our own hospital and country have accessed them.

*NEW* OHSU Diagnostic Radiology School of Medicine Education Website
This was the initial build of our current site. There was no department owned site prior. I worked with a radiologist on the the structure and basic outline. We started the project in May 2010. The build started in July 2011 and launched in September 2011.
The original Educational only site was designed for the medical professional audience (and frequently referenced from outside institutions). I designed and developed the initial build and several redesigns.
